1) Editor of the Southern African Journal on HIV Medicine for the Nursing Profession
 
The Southern African HIV Clinicians Society is a not-for-profit organisation with over 15 000 members. The Society aims to promote quality HIV care, in an ethical and enabling environment within the SADC Region. For more information about the Society visit http://www.sahivsoc.org .The Society seeks to employ an Editor for the Southern African Journal on HIV Medicine for the Nursing Profession.
 
Description
The successful applicant must be self motivated and able to work in a very dynamic and challenging environment. The editor will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the Southern African Journal on HIV Medicine for the Nursing Profession. This will include:
 
Responsibility for acquiring, reviewing and editing all articles published in this journal
Maintaining the journal standards and editorial policies in line with international standards.
 
Qualifications
Degree level education preferably in nursing or another health-care related field, with a post-graduate degree in journalism or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience with progress towards such a preferred qualification.
 
Experience
10 years practical work experience
Experience and/or knowledgeable of the HIV/AIDS sector
Experience with an NGO, implementation-focused donor or development organisation
Experience and / or knowledge in the academic publishing field
Proven track record as a published author in academic publications
 
Remuneration
Remuneration is dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.

Requirements:
MBChB. Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner. Proof of current registration. A minimum of 6 months Paediatric experience. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties:
Assessment, diagnosis and Management of Children and Infants with HIV and Aids and related conditions. Work within a Prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) programme. Training of Interns and supervise such instruction. Manage the interns, assess and manage patients both in the clinic and advise on the management of patients in the wards. Overtime would be carried out in the Paediatric department. Quality patient care, on the job training and continuous professional development Ensure adherence to Batho Pele Principles and Patients Right Charter.
