ABOUT THE COURSE
The Southern African HIV Clinicians Society HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Course has been developed for all cadres of clinicians wanting to deepen their knowledge of HIV prevention options, initiating and managing patients on pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), and managing PrEP in pregnancy and lactation. The course also provides an update of the latest guidance, and has been developed by experts in the field.
This program has been supported by an independent educational grant from Gilead Sciences, Inc.
WHO SHOULD ENROL
The training is for healthcare professionals, and is suitable for:
- All clinicians, especially those involved in sexual and reproductive health services, including STI and HIV care in both public and private sectors;
- Doctors, nurses and pharmacists seeking up-to-date guidance on HIV prevention and the management of clients requesting PrEP;
- Healthcare professionals aiming to strengthen the integration of HIV prevention, and sexual and reproductive health packages & differentiated service delivery

This is a free course for healthcare professionals, limited to the first 500 participants.

COURSE STRUCTURE
The course is comprised of an introduction, 6 structured modules with in-module quizzes, a pre-knowledge assessment, and a final assessment. Each module combines evidence-based content and practical applications.

CPD ACCREDITATION
The course is accredited for 7 Clinical + 1 Ethics points (total 8 CPD points) subject to completion of the course and a 70% and above pass mark on the in-module MCQs and the final assessment.
DURATION
This online course is self-paced, and will typically take 8 hours to complete. Once registered on the course, you will have 1 month to complete it.
